Coincidence v/s God’s Plan (Part 3)

Recently one of my brother Biron D’souza had an incident occured in his life, that he shared with me! I felt that I need to share this to all. The below content is all in his own words, unedited. Do read on.

My friends from Mangalore were down in Bangalore over the weekend, we went bowling and watch the IPL finals together at one of their cousins place on Saturday. I wanted to be up and go in the morning for mass on sunday so that i could make it for the meeting in the evening. Didn find a place near the place where we were staying but two of my friends were goin towards MG road to meet up another friend for breakfast, and near there is the St Patricks Church, i found out from the CFC that mass was at 11 there, so it worked out well.

Coincidence v/s God’s Plan (Part 2)

It was some days back in my college! It was lab practical exam time! My favourite exams actually! Coz I love practicals, than the boring theory which its not possible for me to memorize! Until the eleventh hour everyone were busy with the books outside the lab, some mugging up as much as possible, some just opening the book for the first time, some still inquiring which exam it is actually, some roaming around searching for their study mates, and some just lost in their own thoughts!

The Bell rings, and we proceed inside, take our papers and seats, and start the 2 hour long practical exam. Dont ask me why, but the university rule says we have to write the programs on the sheet of paper, and if it is write then proceed it to execute on the system, quite not certain whats the practical part of it, if you could just by-heart the program and start writing it at once, but thats how the education system runs, no comments!

Coincidence v/s God’s Plan

The title sounds a kinda weird for some, and for others its just thought provoking of whats it all about!

The Time I write this post, its now
8056 days, 20 hours, 51 minutes and 59 seconds or 22 years, 21 days, 20 hours, 51 minutes, 59 seconds
to be precise from the day and time I was born, or when I just entered this “beautiful” world. (If you want to check yours now you could do it here.)

So now to say its been a long time I am here in this world, with a new strange thing happening everyday. A strange news, a strange person I meet, a new technology or invention I hear about, a new smile I get, a new friend I make, a new reason to live life one more day and on the other hand, a new way of crime I hear, a new bomb attack, a murder, a new news to be sad for, a demise of a dear friend or relative, a new topic to fight about, a new reason to make an enemy, a new reason to die for.

What am I doing this Lenten Season?

Few Days back one of my friend just saw me eating fish, and he was shocked to see me eating it. Though he didnt tell me anything at that time, his facial expression revealed a lot to me. Sometime later, when I inquired about it to him, he told me, one of his friend who is a Christian, doesnt eat meat or fish during the whole lenten season, but you do, so I was just shocked about it.This struck my mind. Was this lenten season all about? Not eating meat or fish for 40 days is whats called Lenten season.

Dont the ladies and gents who want to maintain their zero figures or well built figures, do the same, longer than 40 days. So are they also celebrating lenten season.

The Lenten Season

Few days ago, I had shared about Ash Wednesday. But recently I came to know that there are many more days which are observed by Christians which are hardly known by any, so here a little input on all.

Why 40 days?
The number forty has many Biblical references:

the forty days Moses spent on Mount Sinai with God (Exodus 24:18)

the forty days and nights Elijah spent walking to Mount Horeb (1 Kings 19:8)

the forty days and nights God sent rain in the great flood of Noah (Genesis 7:4)

the forty years the Hebrew people wandered in the desert while traveling to the Promised Land (Numbers 14:33)

the forty days Jonah in his prophecy of judgment gave the city of Nineveh in which to repent (Jonah 3:4).

Rush into God’s Kingdom

Other day, on a Sunday I had been to St. Francis Assisi Church at Kakkanad for the 10:00am Mass, specially celebrated for Children. Though the mass is in Malayalam, and I don’t understand a thing, I decided to be a part of joining my Christian brothers and sisters here. Since before reaching the Church was not sure of the mass timings, but by grace of God I reached quite early. So just took my seat in the centre benches of the Church. Said my personal prayers there, and was waiting now for the Mass to start.

Just then some few other parishioners had already taken place with me, and joined me in waiting for the mass to begin, and same time I heard a bell ringing. It was the bell of the Catechism Class for the kids of the parish. We all started hearing a loud sound, more like a stampede coming towards us, and in a rush through, the church was flooded with all kids, running and pushing each other to sit front in the church. With all the smiles and the laughs, and the joy, they were so happy to be there for the mass.

The Holy Mass -Explained to Catalina by Jesus and Mary

Catalina Rivas of Cochabamba, Bolivia, who now dwells in Mérida, Yucatán, México. She is said to receive Messages from Jesus, Mary, and the angels. She has the approval of her Bishop, René Fernández Apaza, who has given his imprimatur to her Messages. The following text is the reproduction of booklet, “The Holy Mass,” in which Our Lord and Our Lady explain to Catalina what is really going on during the Mass in the spiritual realm, and how we should be more concentrated on the great mysteries that are taking place.

Bo. Daniel Gagnon, OMI, of the Commission for the Doctrine of the Faith of the Archdiocese of Mexico, wrote about this book: “I do not find anything against the faith or the customs of the Church. It is not my function to confirm its supernatural character; nevertheless, I recommend it for its spiritual inspiration.”

The testimony of Catalina on the Holy Mass
The testimony of Catalina
on the Holy Mass

In a marvelous catechesis, the Lord and the Virgin Mary have been instructing us first on how to pray the Rosary, that being to pray it with our hearts, and meditate and enjoy the moments when we encounter God and our Blessed Mother. They have also instructed us on the way to make a good confession and, in this document, a teaching on what happens during the Holy Mass and how to live it with our hearts.
This is the testimony that I must and want to give to the whole world, for the greater Glory of God and for the salvation of all of those who want to open their hearts to the Lord. It is also given so that many souls consecrated to God will rekindle the fire of their love for Christ, some of whom are the owners of the hands that have the power to bring Him to our world so that He can become our nourishment. It is also given for others so that they break lose of the “routine practice” of receiving Him, and relive the amazement of their daily encounter with Love. And it is given so that my lay brothers and sisters from the entire world live the greatest Miracle with their hearts: the celebration of the Eucharist.
