Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides

Aye!! This weekend, it was time to go for sailing. Thought of doing something adventurous, like sailing ships in the sea! Fighting with Pirates! So we all got our crew of four together coz others were busy studying unlike us, and set our sails to the port, Cinemax, Oberon Mall, Cochin, for Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, in 3D!

Hmmmmm $90.1M and 7.2 rated, and awesome first two parts were just enough for us to set our focus on it! So as usual, my friends with coke and pop corn, and me with a bottle of chilled water, and this time big 3D glasses commanded the reel to start screening the much awaited movie! Captain Jack Sparrow + A mysterious crazy Quest + Bad guys, Pirates + Sailor Humor = One awesome movie. At least thats what we expected.

Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides

The movie starring, Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp), Angelica (Penélope Cruz), and Black Beard (Ian McShane) are all set on in search on ‘Fountain of Youth’. the movie starts with Jack Sparrow, sorry ‘Captain Jack Sparrow’ rescuing his former first mate Joshamee Gibbs, in London. But both somehow get caught again and as usual Jack, frees himself.

He later meets his father Captain Teague who warns him about what he needs to go to ‘Fountain of Youth’. Somehow since Jack didnt have his ship this time and nor the crew, and somehow gets an surprising visit from his former lover, Angelica, who is also daughter of Pirate Black beard. With all the chaos from the guards and others he ends up being a part of the crew in BlackBeard’s ship ‘Queen Anne’s Revenge’ to lead them to Fountain of Youth.

On the other side, Gibbs memorizes the whole map of it, and burns it, which makes Captain Hector Barbossa, who is now with the Kingsmen, take him along for the expedition. he has already lost Jack’s ‘Black Pearl’ and his own leg too.

The expedition also include’s getting some necessary things for the ritual at the Fountain. The Fountain’s water must be drunk from chalices once belonging to Juan Ponce de León, and that one chalice must contain a mermaid’s tear.

The expedition gets along with Black Beard catching the Mermaids, Jack getting the Chalices after a fight with the Spanish who also are on the same expedition.

Later it comes to picture why exactly Barbossa is in this expedition, is it for the Fountain of Youth or what, and who actually gets life from Fountain of Youth.

I was more of expecting some more action with mix of humor! The humor side it though didnt let me down, but kinda action was not more. The dialogues were well written, with mix of masala. I was also expecting to hear the Pirates of the Caribbean Favorite tune, but no, so kinda disappointing for me! Also compared to former parts, this one not so good! What say mates!!

Aye!! Thats them agreeing with me. Of course Penélope Cruz and the mermaid Syrena (Àstrid Bergès-Frisbey), were in their best looks. Johnny Depp as usual the Piratey look and Captain Barbossa, all fit into the right places, kept the audience enthralled throughout the movie! I didnt know which parts of it was 3D coz I like watching it without glasses, but only some parts were just blurring out. Thats it!

Some good dialogues,

Angelica-Jack: Why is it, we never meet with you pointing something at me?
Jack Sparrow: You know that feeling you get when you’re standing in a high place… sudden urge to jump?… I don’t have it.
Jack Sparrow: Did everyone see that? Because I will not be doing it again.
Royal Man: You are Jack Sparrow; Jack Sparrow: There should be a captain in there somewhere
Jack Sparrow: Have you been there?; Captain Teague: Does this face look like it’s been to the fountain of youth?; Jack Sparrow: Depends on the light.

So if you are still reading this, and have not watched the movie, you are just punishing yourself from watching a good movie this week, coz I heard next week, Kung Fu Panda 2 and The Hangovers 2 is about to release!

Till then Take care matey!! Aye 😛 😛
